Commuting & Safety
According to the Towing & Recovery Association of America (TRAA) tow truck operators provide a valuable service to the motoring public. Operators keep lanes of traffic open by safely removing disabled vehicles or equipment from the roadway. “Clearing traffic incidents from the nations roadways protect both life and property.” This, not only, lowers the risk of other incidents occurring but also, keeps fellow commuters moving. When traveling, please be aware of vehicles in the shoulder or sometimes, in the road. Try to give as wide a berth as safely possible and slowdown, as you do not know what may happen as operators are working. Some loads are unstable as they were mangled in a crash. Also, there is always a chance that an operator could lose their footing from vehicle fluids or uneven roads or debris. No one wants to be in an accident but unfortunately, it happens. By preparing for potential situations, we can lower the chances of vehicle incidents.
At Dodson Towing we follow the TRAA guidelines for towing and recovery of vehicles. We will always have the appropriate PPE & safely lights so that other motorists can see our work. So please, if you see a stalled vehicle and if you can, move over, slow down, or even signal, so that we can all continue on our way and make it home.
